how to plant seed paper

What is seed paper and what is ours made of?

Seed paper is environmentally friendly, plantable paper embedded with seeds.

Our promotional seed paper is made from post-consumer waste paper and printed with water-based inks.

All the seeds we use are non-GMO.

None of the flowers in our flower blend seed paper are considered invasive and will not have a negative impact on the environment.

Our seed paper is handmade and is specially manufactured to be smooth, flat and strong.

Does seed paper actually grow?

The short answer to this is yes, of course it does! But we would say that wouldn’t we.

When planted appropriately in reasonable growing conditions, we can confidently say that yes, the seeds in the seed paper will grow.

Our seed paper is regularly tested to ensure high germination rates and all the seeds we select undergo rigorous testing to ensure they grow well in seed paper.

All the seeds in the seed paper we supply have also undergone purity tests and we can guarantee that the seed paper is free from weeds.

Our unique seed mix has been chosen to ensure high germination rates.

How to plant seed paper

Seed paper is very easy to grow, here are the top things you should do to ensure successful growth.

  1. Seed paper can be planted inside or outside, if you’re planting yours outside do remember to plant it in Spring, or Autumn so it will flower the following year.
  2. Before planting, soak the seed paper in water and tear into small pieces.
  3. Plant it under a very thin layer of soil or compost – no more than 5mm.
  4. During germination do not allow the soil to dry out, keep well-watered.
  5. Make sure that there is adequate drainage, do not allow the soil or compost to become water logged.
  6. Always plant in full sunlight.
  7. Once seeds germinate, keep well-watered.
